During E Book Show in Southampton we are pleased to announce the following events happening throughout February:

Saturday 2 Febuary
11am-4pm
Pop-up Photobook Market
We will be at the gallery selling some of our favourite titles by people that have taken part in previous shows. A great chance to get hold of some great self published photobooks.
FREE – no need to book, just come in the gallery…

Saturday 9 Febuary
11am-1pm or 2pm-4pm
DIY Bookmaking Workshop pt 1
A workshop where we’ll help you set up, print, and sew a book of your work. Part one looks at editing and print preparation ahead of part 2 where you’ll produce the book itself.

Saturday 9 February
6pm-8pm
Film Screening ‘How to make a book with Steidl’
A feature length documentary exploring the world and vision of one of the world’s most venerated publishers. Accompanied by a discussion and viewing of some of the books from the film.

Children’s Book Making Workshop – aged 7+
Bring along 6-10 photographs you have taken and turn them into your own book. Led by Kristianne Drake, Lens Based Artist and Lecturer in photography at Southampton Solent University.

Thursday 28 February

Photobooks: a journey through the collection at Winchester School of Art
This workshop offers an introduction to the collection of photobooks at Winchester School of Art. Find out more about the diverse approaches that photographers have used to create books.

Book filming & Drop in
The photobookshow team will be at hand all day in the gallery making video walkthru films of books in the show for use on the online archive. Drop in for advice and guidance, or to help out and see how it’s done.
